Transportation
AIR: Most people want to book their own flights using, we suggest using www.kayak.com or similar site to book your airline ticket. Save money by being flexible in your flight dates, once you have those we can book your dental/medical appointment around those dates - thereby saving you the most money on your airline ticket and overall package.
Ground: Depending on your personal choice, you will be met at the airport by our English speaking transportation specialist and they will be with you throughout your health trip experience. If you choose a package hotel from our list then transportation is included. This is a stree-free option; for example, if your plane is a hour or more late, or medical appointments/ procedures run over time - they will wait and be available for you. We have worked very hard on constructing a specialized transportation service designed specifically for health tourists like you. These transportation specialists provide late model, spacious vans for your comfort and are not simply taxi drivers - they have received specialized training and certification and understand not only the procedures, but also the potential risk factors and how to respond to any complications or health concerns.
The are other options of course, if you're a dental patient and just need an English speaking taxi, no problem - we can help there too. Rental cars are also an option; however, we don't recommend driving in the city by yourself unless you've driven in Latin America before.
Tours and Travel Packages
New You Costa Rica has teamed up premier travel and tour operators in Costa Rica who work directly with us to offer a variety of tour packages including individual (just you and your travel partner) and group packages (shared experiences). We have negotiated the best possible rates and will work with you to ensure your health vacation is everything you imagined. Basically, every tour option is available (when appropriate for your health vacation) and can be customized to meet your every need. Whether you wish to fly inter-country, tour volcanoes, beaches and tourist spots, New You Costa Rica will arrange all in-country transportation and vacation preferences.
Generally speaking, dental patients do not have significant travel restrictions. Medical patients may require approval from their Costa Rican physician before traveling. We work with you and your physician to ensure your travel is safe and appropriate for your particular needs. One option available to everyone is booking your tours and vacation activities prior to any dental or medical procedures. In this case, you would have an initial consultation with your health provider, perform any necessary testing (or start building your dental work), and then you can enjoy yourself before having the procedure(s). Again, we are there for you every step of the way and will help construct a personalized vacation option.
If you desire to have your procedure first, and then vacation (relax and recover outside of the San Jose area) be assured our drivers/guides (generally the same person who has been working with you for all your transportation needs) are CRP trained and well versed in taking care of health tourists. They will have the contact information of your physicians and can provide direct communication with your health provider to ensure continued care throughout your health vacation experience. Hotels & Recovery Center Options
As part of your health vacation, you may need to spend time at a specialized recovery center (surgical patients) or a hotel with adequate facilities and personnel to provide necessary response to any health needs. All of these options will be clearly explained to you prior to your commitment to travel to Costa Rica. Please ask any question at any time and your New You Costa Rica health specialist will research and provide the answers.
For dental and non-surgical patients, we can also suggest other budget hotels and B&Bs near our provider's clinics that you can contact directly, or we can help there too. New You Costa Rica never "marks up" your travel options. We are your advocate - always.
Please keep in mind that this experience is about you, and your health needs - this is the most important part of your trip. You'll be saving 40% to 80% on your dental or medical procedures, and we will negotiate the best possible hotel rates, so please allow yourself to be spoiled (guilt free) for at least part of your trip experience. Rates for hotels will vary to meet your budget needs, but be aware that many "cheaper" hotel options will not provide the exceptional customer service and ability to assist you should any health concerns become apparent. For this reason, we are very picky about the hotel partner we work with or recommend.
